Intent Detection
Activate this skill when the user:
- Asks how to price an AI feature, copilot, agent, or automation
- Wants to decide whether to embed AI in existing tiers or charge separately
- Needs to model AI inference costs and margins
- Wants to design AI credit systems or usage-based AI pricing
- Is packaging AI capabilities across tiers

Core Principle
If you cannot name the measurable value the AI delivers, you cannot price it.
AI pricing is a nascent field. Most companies are getting it wrong. The dominant mistakes: pricing on inference cost (cost is not value), gating AI behind premium tiers (killing the data flywheel), and treating all AI the same (a copilot is not an agent is not embedded intelligence). This skill enforces disciplined, value-based AI pricing with rigorous cost modeling.
Process
Phase 1 — Problem Clarity (Ask First)
Before generating anything, ask these questions. Do not skip this phase.
Mandatory questions (ask all 5):

What AI capability are you pricing? Classify it:
- Copilot / Assistant — augments a human user (suggestions, drafts, Q&A)
- Agent — acts autonomously on behalf of the user (executes workflows, makes decisions)
- Automation — replaces a specific workflow step (auto-categorization, auto-routing)
- Embedded Intelligence — built-in AI feature users may not notice (smart search, recommendations, anomaly detection) Each type has a fundamentally different value profile and pricing model.

- If existing: What is the current pricing model? (Per-user, flat, usage-based, hybrid?)
- If standalone: What is the competitive set? Who else offers this?

What is the measurable value the AI delivers? Time saved, errors prevented, revenue generated, decisions improved? Be specific: "saves 2 hours/week on report creation" not "makes things faster." Phase 2 — Embed vs. Charge Decision Framework
This is the central strategic decision. Get it wrong and you either leave money on the table or kill adoption.
